About

“Palimpsest Cities: Gamification and Storytelling for Architectural History and Cultural Heritage Awareness” is an EU co-funded higher-education Project (2022-1-TR01-KA220-HED-000089912). It is coordinated by Alanya University from Türkiye, and its partners are Istanbul Technical University from Türkiye, InnovED from Greece and De-a Arhitectura from Romania. The project started on 15 December 2022 and will end on 14 April 2025.

Why Palimpsest Cities?

Our project takes its inspiration from the multi-layered character of historic cities and their urban heritage.

Our aim is to create architectural history and cultural heritage awareness, by establishing bonds with city’s past and its inhabitants through innovative, hybrid, learner-based approaches, by particularly using techniques of gamification and digital storytelling. We wish to change the mindsets of our students as well as the whole public starting from the underrepresented groups, in an effective and sustainable way.
